Sixth Grade - Here We Come!

Welcome back to the "new and improved" Cooper, to sixth grade and to your new classroom. This begins my ninth year here and my 29th year of teaching. My first 20 years were spent at Tyler (currently Webster) teaching Special Education and third and fourth grades. Here, at Cooper, I have taught both fifth and sixth grades. I feel fortunate to love what I do - teach. Cooper is a home, full of caring and passionate staff.  I look forward to my days here and am proud of being a part of this wonderful space.

I am most enthusiastic about literacy.  My goal is to enrich your child's literate world, help them communicate effectively, encourage them to find and use their voice, to make a difference and to become leaders in their own way.

Your child will have the honor of math and science instruction from my teaching partner, Mr. Lietz. He is an exciting and well loved teacher in the school.  We work hard at making your child's safety a priority.

With my husband, we have two children. Jay, 25 and Paige, 21.  Chloe, our devoted dog, is my walking buddy and Lucky, our aging cat soaks up whatever sun spot she can find. Leisurely, I most love to read, read, and read some more. My public library is one of my favorite places to be. Additionally, being in my kitchen among pots and pans, measuring cups, spices and cookbooks is another favorite place. I enjoy scrap booking and using my creative energies, listening to a wide variety of music and spending time with family and friends.
